The abomination of desolation mentioned in the book of Daniel refers to the Jewish synagogue and animal sacrifice at a future date rather than the novus ordo. After all, the Eastern rites such as the Maronite rite have never been destroyed.
This is actually two questions.
Is the Novus Ordo Missae the Abomination of Desolation, or is it something else?
Actually there are several definitions of the Abomination of Desolation.
St. Jerome wrote as follows on this topic: It is possible to apply this text easily to either the Antichrist, to the statue of Caesar which Pilate placed in the Temple or even to the equestrian statue of Hadrian, which down to this present day stands on the very site of the holy of holies. In the Old Testament, however, the term abomination is applied deliberately to idols. To identify it further, ‘of desolation,’ is added to indicate that the idol was placed in a desolate or ruined temple. The abomination of desolation can be taken to mean as well every perverted doctrine. When we see such a thing stand in the holy place, that is in the Church and pretend it is God, we must flee…,
Personally, I believe Jesus was referring to three things in Saint Matthew’s Gospel.  First, He was referring to the person of Antichrist, John the Baptist Montini.  Antichrist removed the John XXIII Mass, which was still valid and replaced it with the abominable Novus Ordo Missae, which is invalid, and this is the second fulfillment.  And then all of the perfidious heresies of the Pog Church are the third meaning of the term in my opinion.

Are the Eastern Rites legitimate?
True, the Eastern Rites in most of the world have not been touched, although I have heard that they are being attacked here in the Untied States and some translated into English.  However, they are celebrated una cum Benedict XVI, and thus are objectively illegitimate and sacrilegious, although still valid.  Saint Cyprian says: To adhere to a false Bishop of Rome is to be out of communion with the Church.  Further the Bishops of these churches would have joined with the other Bishops at Vatican II in defecting from the Divine and Catholic Faith by heresy in signing heretical Vatican II documents.  More information can be found at the egroup.  Is a valid Mass celebrated by a heretic or schismatic more abominable than an invalid Mass?

Please feel free to forward any other questions.
